Theremin Simulator Lets You Play the Unique Electronic Musical Instrument Online

Online Theremin

United Kingdom-based web design specialists Femur Design have created a web-based version of the electronic musical instrument the theremin. A traditional theremin uses two antennas, one for frequency and one for amplitude, to allow players to craft music using the position of their hands between the two.

With Femur Design’s online theremin, users’ interactions with the screen are translated into sound thanks to that magic of “Javascript using the Web Audio API with HTML5 canvas.” The simulator always provides settings for Waveform, Delay Time, Feedback, and Scuzz — all of which can significantly alter the sound produced.
