The White House Issues a Statement Outlining President Obama’s Net Neutrality Plan For a Free and Open Internet

The White House has issued a statement detailing President Obama’s plan to have the FCC enforce a free and open internet through net neutrality.

If carefully designed, these rules should not create any undue burden for ISPs, and can have clear, monitored exceptions for reasonable network management and for specialized services such as dedicated, mission-critical networks serving a hospital. But combined, these rules mean everything for preserving the Internet’s openness.

The President has also, fittingly, shot a YouTube video from the Oval Office addressing the matter (after a little tongue-in-cheek buffering graphic).
