“The Putter” is a wordless video by United Kingdom-based filmmaker Shaun Bloodworth that focuses on the work of Cliff Denton, a man who quite literally puts together pairs of scissors for Ernest Wright & Sons in Sheffield. The company, which has existed since 1902, is one of the last remaining sources of handcrafted shears. The film is part of the Storying Sheffield series which explores the inhabitants of the South Yorkshire city.
