Sculptor Willard Wigan creates art on an impossible scale. He uses a microscope, fibers, and a meditative trance to sculpt minute figures and scenes that fit on the head of a pin. He uses his heartbeat as a jackhammer, and runs the risk of inhaling his works with every breathe. Recently, Wigan spoke at the TED about overcoming the physical challenges of creating his artwork:
