‘The London Evolution Animation’, 2,000 Years of London History Visualized on a Map

Created by the The Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, The London Evolution Animation highlights the development of the English capital from the Roman era to the present day, featuring visualizations of networked roads and protected buildings and structures.

This film brings together and animates thousands of georeferenced records to visualize the extent of development in London during specific historical periods and the number of structures we have protected by ‘listing’ and ‘scheduling.’

More information on the structures can be found at the Almost Lost exhibit at New London Architecture.
