“The Illusion of Life” is an animated short by New York-based animator Vincenzo Lodigiani, adapted from The Illusion of Life by early Disney animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas. The short illustrates the duo’s “12 Basic Principles of Animation” using a small emotive cube.
These principles came as a result of reflection about their practice and through Disney’s desire to use animation to express character and personality.
