The Happening Book is a Tumblr blog by an anonymous author who posts geeky journal entries that he wrote as a seven-year-old in 1978. Each day he posts a page corresponding to the exact day it was written 35 years ago.
I found a box containing a bunch of stuff my mom had saved for me — mainly old photos and baby stuff, but also some report cards and other educational artifacts, including a spiral notebook with a missing cover containing pages and pages of dated crayon drawings.
Leafing through the now-yellowed pages, I was immediately struck by waves of nostalgia, but also recognition — so much of what I cared about then are things I still care about now.
