Great idea, shame about the rain, the result being a bit ho-hum compared to their other missions. They should have had an alternate rain plan.
Cool experiment. I love stuff like this. i can’t imagine the coordination it would take to pull this off.
Great idea…terrible execution.
Spontaneous fans, three sheets to the wind, at Yankee Stadium do a better job with The Wave.
I know that a serial configuration with delayed camera flash factors creates more impediments to a smooth execution than the simple, cellular automaton array-like structure that is the wave, but, still: No excuses! ;) I expect better.
Anyone else see the TRS hoodie?
High regards for the folks who came out on a rainy night to participate. Because of the competing lights on the bridge and automobiles, the flashes had less impact than one would hope for.
One night I was checking out a remote station in a Detroit suburb. The outside light on the building operated on a photocell that was cycling the light on-off every five minutes. When I arrived the light was on and very bright, illuminating the entire side of the building. When I completed my work inside I came out and the light was off, however, there were a mass of fireflies from the ground to about 20 feet high flickering their lights on-off giving a magical twinkling effect. I enjoyed the moment until the outside light cycled back on again.
