They played reruns of My So Called Life all the time, and there were only 19 episodes?

Although I agree that crap TV usually trumps genius TV, there is one glaring counter-argument to the above graph. It can be summed up in two words: “The” and “Simpsons.” The longest-running program in television history has certainly had its lesser moments, to be sure, but it’s also provided some of the greatest humor in the history of the medium.
Now, now … Family Matters had its moments ;)
