The Ancient Moroccan Bow Lathe

In this 2010 video by British woodworking historian Stuart King, a Moroccan man demonstrates a primitive bow lathe, an ancient form of woodturning lathe. Despite the simplicity of the device, and the full body contortions required to operate it, the man is able to deftly turn a complex wooden chess piece with remarkable speed.
