The only competing same day event though is the Castro Street fair which is beyond boring. Except... at the Castro Street Fair, tucked away between Castro and Noe is Sugar Valley ( http://www.sugarvalley.org/ ) the alternative party of the Castro Street Fair. In this one block are whacked out weirdos, freaks, artists, and general tongue in cheekiness that the rest of the festival is really missing. The alone make the Castro Street fair worth attending.
