Terminally Ill Grandmother Uses Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Headset for Therapy

Video game artist Priscilla Firstenberg managed to get her hands on an Oculus Rift virtual reality headset developer kit in late 2013 after a passionate email to the folks at Oculus VR about her terminally ill grandmother Roberta Firstenberg. Roberta had been given another month or two to live, and Priscilla wanted to provide her with the ability to walk around again.

After a few amazing experiences exploring a virtual house and seeing herself on Google Street View, some of which Priscilla filmed, Roberta passed away four weeks after her first use of the Oculus Rift.
