SwagBot, A Farming Robot Used for Herding Animals, Towing Equipment, and Other Duties

SwagBot is a farming robot developed by Australian Centre for Field Robotics that can be used for herding animals, towing equipment, and other duties. The robot can be used on its own or in coordination with a drone for more complicated tasks. SwagBot’s large wheels are powered independently and mounted at the end of long arms, allowing the robot to navigate difficult terrain and move over obstacles.

Meet SwagBot – our latest farming robot. SwagBot proved successful in its first field test. SwagBot successfully demonstrated the ability to operate in the rugged cattle station environment. Future trials will focus on applying research toward autonomous farm activities including monitoring and interacting with plants and animals.
