Surveillance System Catches Lightning Striking a Moving Pickup Truck in Canada

CTV News Edmonton reports that a surveillance system at a manufacturing facility in the city of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada caught lightning striking a moving pickup truck with owners Al and Betty Perry inside. Both Al and Betty made it out of the vehicle safely, but the incident left holes in the road where it happened and made leaving the truck difficult.

“It was all blowing up in front of my face,” Betty said.
Inside the truck, airbags deployed, the metal body was rippled by the heat, and then smoke began to fill the cabin, making it difficult for either Al or Betty to see or breathe.
