#Stock Tips, An Old School Hard Copy Zine Celebrating the Wonder of Soup

Friends Rachel Fershleiser and Ami Greko are banding together to create an old school, black-and-white hard copy zine celebrating the wonder that is soup.

Because the world needs a lo-fi tribute to everyone’s favorite meal. Stock Tips originated as a tag on Tumblr. Rachel started blogging about soup, and offering advice to others on how to make their soup—and stock—better. Meanwhile, Ami was traveling through South America (learning to make a soup called Caldo Gaellgo), and communicating with everyone back home only through her zine, Charm Offensive.

The pair has taken to Kickstarter to raise funds for production costs.

We know there are a ton of other people out there who like soup and read zines! So we want to combine our love of soup-making and zine-writing and share it with a wider audience than just our Tumblr followers or Charm Offensive readers. And that’s where you come in. Backers are essentially pre-ordering their zine, so that we have enough money to cover the photocopying and shipping. We’ll throw in the folding, stapling, and envelope stuffing with a little help from our friends.

The funding period runs through January 24, 2014.
