BINDLESTIFF STUDIO PRESENTS
"The FOB Show: Return of the Comeback"
Following the mega-success of last year's sold-out run comes The FOB
Show: Return of the Comeback! The show from somewhere between two
shores is back at Bindlestiff Studio, the epicenter of Filipino and
Filipino-American art, with another sensory-overloading mix of sketch
comedy, scripted drama, puppetry, animation, video, movement, and
much more!!!
Join us as we delve deeper into the immigrant's world. Welcome to
FOBlantis, capital of FOBlandia! Visit our other fobulous hotspots:
steamy FOBlanta, wild Kirkland, and of course, sultry Serramonte.
Feel what it's like to leave something behind, experience culture
shock, and see the world from a place we've all been to, but rarely
visit. If you've ever felt like you didn't belong, welcome home.
The FOB Show: Return of the Comeback will run Thursday thru Saturday
March 30-April 15, 2006 at 8pm. All shows will be held at
Bindlestiff Alley, 505 Natoma St. (between Howard & Mision), San
Francisco. Reservations are being taken immediately at (415)
255-0440. Ticket prices are $10-15. Proceeds will benefit the FOB
Troupe and the Bindlestiff Capital Campaign to rebuild the theater at
its original location on 6th Street.
THE FOB SHOW is a multi-genre production that captures the
immigrant experience from a uniquely Filipino perspective.
Through puppetry, scripted drama, sketch comedy, improv, film,
animation, song, poetry, live instrumental, movement and dance, this
production is the opportunity for the Filipino immigrant community to
express, explore, and showcase their existence and interaction with
the world at large.
This show is meant for everybody and anybody. For anyone who wants
to laugh, cry, or relate with us. For anyone who's willing to
listen, learn, and see hellip through our transient eyes.
Bindlestiff Studio is a non-profit artistic hub that provides an
affordable, professional, small performing arts venue where new and
veteran artists can take creative risks. Anchored by the Filipino
American community, Bindlestiff Studio endeavors to educate the
public about Filipino American culture and the arts through
theatrical presentations, public workshops, concerts, readings, and
other events. As the first Filipino American Theater in the nation,
Bindlestiff Studio continues to be at the vanguard through the
efforts of its artists and community that supports it.
