The Mission Arts & Performance Project (MAPP) is a bi-monthly
collaboration of over 30 visual artists, musicians, poets and
performers, with more than six participating locations. The MAPP puts
art and performance on the street level by using alternative spaces
such as private garages, basements, and studios. This month the MAPP
joins the "CHASKY" to host a MAPP of Resistance. A Chasky is a
Quechua term for the traditional messengers who ran from village to
village in the Andes bringing important news. The emphasis was in
communication and mobility. The Chasky is an entirely volunteer ran,
community centered activity to acknowledge the truth regarding the
destruction and misery caused by more than 500 years of Eurocentric
domination of the Americas and the world.
