The Subject is Sex Volume 2 Screens at Oddball Film+Video

This Friday, September 23rd at 8:30 PM Stephen Parr presents "The
Subject is Sex, Volume 2" at Oddball Film+Video, 275 Capp Street, San
Francisco.
Showtime is 8:30 PM and admission is $10.00 by RSVP only.
"The Subject is Sex Volume 2" is the second volume in Parr's
extraordinary personal romp through the seamy side of Sex in Cinema.
Volume One of "The Subject is Sex"(released by Other Cinema dvd),
already in its second pressing was hailed by critics alike from
erotic writer Suzie Bright to the LA Weekly who called it "A giddy,
sordid tour of an overheated century".
This in-progress screening, screening one week before Parr's
premiere at the Anthology Film Archive in New York City is another
wild, way out sex-o-rama showcase of some of the choicest recent
clips form his archive of over 50,000 films and tapes.
Drawn from his extensive 16mm film archives this polymorphous program
promises a pulsating panorama of perverse pleasures that includes
home movies, hillbilly porn, cartoon smut, commercials, trailers,
educationals, hygiene films, burlesque bits, verite footage from porn
sets, and oozing oodles more!
This new "The Subject is Sex promises to give new meaning to the
phrase "Sex is where you find it". Highlights include Seaside Films
"The Hitchiker"(1940s), movie trailers like "White Mama, Black Mama"
and "Truck Stop Women"(60s and 70s), Sally Rand's "Artist
Model"(50s), the Felliniesque commercial for "Jeno's Pizza Rolls",
Wally Cox in drag selling "Salvo" laundry detergent tablets to his
mom, Cheesenappers(couch surfing belles), burlesque beauties,
beefcakes and cheesecakes and much more! Also rare found-in-a-
dumpster behind-the scenes footage of "The Red Shoes" a shot-on-film
San Francisco porn feature from the golden age of adult cinema.
