The third film of Erich Langjahr’s trilogy on the decline of
the farming community in Switzerland focuses on the life of the
shepherds.
Can a donkey’s patient gaze stir a sense of wonder?
Langjahr’s masterful use of his observant camera, ambient
sound, evocative music, and the rhythm of images proves that it can.
The film captures the pace of life of the shepherds in the snow-
covered Alps, “it invites us to slow down, pay attention and
let the magic work.” (SFIFF 2005)
