Free Night of Theatre Launch Celebration

Starting on Tuesday, September 20, you can reserve a pair of FREE
tickets for the upcoming Free Night of Theatre on Thursday, October
20, either at www.TIXBayArea.com or the TIX Pavilion in Union Square.

As part of the Free Night of Theater, over 70 theatre and performing
arts companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area will offer a
number of their seats to the public for FREE on the evening of
Thursday, October 20, in an effort to raise awareness and attract new
audience members to the region's vibrant performing arts scene.

Participating theatre companies include ACT, Berkeley Repertory
Theatre, California Shakespeare Theater, TheatreWorks, San Jose
Repertory Theatre, the Magic Theatre, the Aurora Theatre Company,
Beach Blanket Babylon, and many more. For a full list of theatres and
to reserve your tickets, visit www.TIXBayArea.com, the TIX Bay Area
Pavilion in Union Square, or the Santana Row Concierge Facility in
San Jose (which opens on Sunday, September 25).

In addition, at noon on Tuesday, September 20, people can line up at
the TIX Pavilion in Union Square to reserve tickets and enjoy the
opening celebration from noon until 1:00pm with live performances by
the Asian American Theatre Company, Killing My Lobster, Lorraine
Hansberry Theatre, and Woman's Will.

Later that day, at 6:00pm, tickets will be available online through
the newly-launched www.TIXBayArea.com website, in addition to being
offered at the TIX Pavilion.

The Free Night of Theatre is organized locally by Theatre Bay Area,
whose mission is to unite, strengthen, and promote theatre in the San
Francisco Bay Area region. The Free Night of Theatre campaign is
being directed by the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) - a national
theatre service organization. The Bay Area was specially selected to
participate in this campaign, and is joined by Philadelphia and
Austin. TCG anticipates that this year's pilot effort will lead to a
nationwide campaign in 2006 to attract new audiences to the theatre.
