Mechanic's Saloon: Short Fiction Fest
Curated and Hosted by Michael Disend
Sometimes it's the simplest stories that move us the most: checking
into a cheap motel on the last day of life; a cook-out with an
arsonist who burns loving hearts; Santa Claus floundering helplessly
in fast-food hell.
Mechanic's Saloon is a NEW literary gathering dedicated to showcasing
local writers reading their own works. Some writers are recently
published and others just discovered - fresh voices from our literary
midst that promise to be vibrant, surprising, and VERY San Francisco!
Utilizing diverse styles, riveting interior monlogues, and deft
plots, each writer's voice shines light upon places, situations, and
relationships both familiar and strange.
The first evening includes William Bivins, Stephen Hoadley, Suzanne
Kleid, Karen Laws, Katia Noyes, Michael Price, and Michael Disend.
Venue:
