The Coming of Age: A benefit for the Coaltion on Homelessness

Thu, Sep 8

Shhhhhhhh. It's a SURPRISE PARTY.
And you're invited.

The Coalition on Homelessness is turning 18, so we've decided to have
a "coming of age" party/benefit. The "SURPRISE" lies in the fact that
we never thought to get this old. But though we strongly regret the
fact that we're still here and still needed, 18 years later, we've
decided to make this an occasion to celebrate. To renew our sense of
community. Relax. Eat. Drink. Create. Perform. Revel. And prepare to
fight the only war that really counts: the war at home. This party
features art: art to look at, listen to, partake of, take part in,
and, yes, this IS a benefit, art to buy.

Event highlights:
bull Artwork by Art Hazelwood, Sara Thustra, Ed Gould, Eric Drooker,
Marianna Viturra, Casper Banjo and more
bull Widely acclaimed-yet appropriately elusive-graffiti artist
Spie-1 tagging T-shirts
bull Performances by Bayonics (salsa music), Joti Singh (Bhangora
dance), Youth Speaks (poetry and spoken word) and more
* The ubiquitous "special guests" and, we hope, you and your
friends...and your friends' friends
