Teatro Luna is a powerhouse of talent, wit and unbridled humor! =20
Chicago's all Latina Theatre Ensemble blazes into the Bay Area for a =20
ten-day artist residency hosted by Galer=EDa de la Raza and featuring =20=

two productions to satiate the budding thespian in all. Teatro Luna's =20=

plays chronicle the everyday stories of Latina women and their =20
sisters of color, the what not that accumulates in the crevices of =20
subtle movements, unspoken words and the constant talk back of the =20
mind. Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as "a group of fierce women that =20
inspire," Teatro Luna is more than just your run-of-the-mill-gender-=20
specific-culturally-specific-comedy-satire-theatre company. =46rom =20
September 9th through September 18th, you're invited to two special =20
productions.

Aparic=EDon is the story of Natalia, a Mexican born Tejana whose day-to-=20=

day life is interrupted by the appearance of an Entity in the corner =20
of her bedroom. Here begins the interplay between the ordinary and =20
the extraordinary in a small South Texas border town. As Natalia =20
muddles through the complicated relationships in her life - an affair =20=

with her sister's husband, her domineering and class-obsessed Mexican =20=

family, her friendships with a working class Tex/Mex woman and her =20
new neighbor, a transplant from Chicago who is one of the only =20
African-American men in her town - she struggles to bind this Being =20
to her. Her relationship to the Specter is marked by surreal =20
confusion and extended dreams in which Natalia tries to find some =20
meaning in the Spirit, a reprieve from her increasingly unsatisfying =20
life.

Teatro Luna's performance of S-e-x-Oh! received support from the =20
Western States Arts Federation and the National Endowment for the =20
Arts. Youth Speaks and the University of San Francisco's Performing =20
Arts and Social Justice Major are co-sponsors of Teatro Luna's San =20
Francisco performance of S-e-x-Oh!
