Faustin Linyekula/Studios Kabako: Contemporary dance theater from the
Congo
On September 16th and 17th, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts proudly
presents the much anticipated North American debut of Faustin
Linyekula's Triptyque Sans Titre, contemporary Congolese dance
theater. This politically charged piece tells the bittersweet story
of the Democratic Republic of Congo that has long endured
colonization, civil war and unrest, as well as its people who find it
painful to remember their heritage, and equally agonizing to forget
it. This is the season opener for the YBCA PRESENTS '05-'06
