Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In Presents
Who is Bozo Texino?
The Epic Account Of The Near Discovery Of The World's Most Mysterious
Boxcar Artist
The long awaited, twelve-plus years-in-the-making epic by Bill Daniel
is finally finished. This spectacular travel adventure faithfully
photographed in realistic black and white film at considerable risk
from speeding freight trains and in secret hobo jungles in the dogged
pursuit of the impossibly convoluted story of the heretofore untold
history of the century-old folkloric practice of hobo and railworker
graffiti and the absurd quest for the true identity of railroading's
greatest artist will likely amuse and confound you in its sincere
attempt to understand and preserve this artform. A gorgeous film
that captures the tremendous beauty of seeing America from the back
of a freight train.
Plus additional short features: WALDO POINT by Saul Rouda. A
mindblowing timetrip. The long haired punks of the water. And the
short film BRITTON, SOUTH DAKOTA by Vanessa Renwick. 1938 archival
footage of kids standing in front of the movie camera to have their
"portrait" made. Eerie, and with an equally haunting score.
PLUS thrilling and funny short films, an intermission, and great
company.
Friday August 12th, 8:00pm
