nf orchest (Berkeley)
An ongoing improvization trio based in the berkeley area. comprised =20
of angela hsu on violin, andrew way manipulating turntables and =20
voice, and james kaiser with tapes and bowed metal, the group takes =20
cues from drone musicians such as tony conrad, to organum, with some =20
more aggressive elements thrown in for variety. depending on the =20
state of mind and mood of the three, performances could be quiet and =20
almost melodic to a frustrated burst of cacaphony. no predictions on =20=
what side you get, least of all from hsu, way or kaiser. hsu =20
performs regularly in various projects at mills college and in the =20
bay area, while way and
kaiser also record and perform with bruce anderson as french radio, =20
and kaiser's solo work is under the name petit mal. contact at =20
