Smart Glasses With Liquid Lenses That Can Automatically Adjust to a Person’s Prescription

A team of engineers at the University of Utah have developed a pair of smart glasses with liquid lenses that can automatically adjust to a person’s prescription. The glasses pair with a smartphone app that lets the user manually set the prescription, and the lenses can automatically switch between two prescriptions using piezoelectric actuation based on what the wearer is looking at.

The team published a paper about the glasses and how they work in journal Optics Express.
