“Psycho Soup” is a remix by electronic music artist Christopher Nicholas Bertke — known also as “Pogo” (see previously) — of sounds from Gearbox Software and 2K Games‘ newly released first-person shooter video game Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
I spent around 4 weeks extracting sounds from the game files, applying hacks to the game to disable the HUD, slow time and shoot almost everything you see in the video. Apart from being addictive and insanely fun, Borderlands looks beautiful. I could spend hours shooting the environments alone. There is so much attention to detail that you simply don’t notice when you’re busy slaying psychos and hunting for epic loot. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.
Extreme Pogo pioneer Nick McClintock and other members of the Xpogo team attached a GoPro to their pogo sticks and proceeded to capture some truly impressive jumps, flips, and a few unfortunate spills. The video was shot with a GoPro HD HERO3 and set to the instrumental “I Go” by rapper Hannibal Leq.
Produced by XPogo, the governing body behind extreme pogo, the short film “Cooligans” highlights some of the sport’s crazier and more impressive tricks. The seven-minute film is an impressive collection of flips, grabs, grinds and more than a few falls, showcasing the heights and crashes of the young sport.
