According to The Telegraph, Australian scientists have “spent ten years trying to develop a new variety of sweeter, juicier pineapple” and have, unexpectedly, created a genetically modified pineapple that tastes like coconut. It’s called the “AusFestival” (aka “piña colada pineapple”) and it will be available commercially in a couple of years.
