Runaway Monkey Lingonberry-Scented Air Freshener, Based on the Monkey Found in a Shearling Coat at IKEA

Runaway Monkey

First there was a cute little monkey in a fancy shearling coat and a diaper named Darwin found wandering a Toronto IKEA parking lot and now Archie McPhee has made a lingonberry-scented Runaway Monkey air freshener based on it. Again, it smells like lingonberries. It’s available to purchase at their online store.

Smell like a monkey rebel with simian swagger

Who would have thought that a simple monkey in a shearling coat would take over the internet? Yet, we all remember when he escaped and ran amok through a big box store, posing for pictures through the glass with a look of existential angst. This lingonberry-scented air freshener is our attempt to pay homage to his act of primate rebellion and undeniable simian swagger. It’s 4-1/4″ tall and comes with a string to hang it from a rear view mirror or office cubicle wall. You have to admit, in the end, aren’t we all just monkeys trapped in a society that we didn’t make and don’t understand? When we see him standing there in his tiny coat, we realize that he is us and we are him. Plus, monkey in people clothes! Awww…

In case you forget, this is what the real Darwin looks like:
