Researchers Create Glowing Kittens in Fight Against AIDS

Glowing Kittens

Researchers have created genetically modified kittens that glow under fluorescent light and may be resistant to feline AIDS. The glowing (for tracking purposes) and the AIDS resistance are both the result of an experimental genetic therapy that introduces genes into feline egg cells. The researchers, from the Mayo Clinic and Japan’s Yamaguchi University, hope to develop methods for combating both feline and human AIDS.
