Raspberry Pi Zero, A Miniature $5 Computer More Powerful Than the Original Raspberry Pi

Raspberry Pi Zero and a Five Dollar Bill

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has released the new Raspberry Pi Zero, a miniature $5 computer that is smaller and more powerful than the original Raspberry Pi. The new device features a 1GHz ARM11 core processor that is 40% faster than the original, 512MB RAM, and an identical 40-pin GPIO header to other Raspberry Pi models, all measuring just 65mm x 30mm x 5mm. For connectivity, the Raspberry Pi Zero has micro-USB sockets, a mini-HMDI socket, micro-SD slot, and composite video header.

The Raspberry Pi Zero is available now, and is also being given away for free as a cover gift on the December issue of The MagPi, the official Raspberry Pi magazine.
