So if the twitter-socialmedia-blogo-sycophantic-self-masturbatory feed gets to much you have all these options to shut people up. . . Kinda defeats the purpose, maybe? Really, doesn't that just do a better job at highlighting what a load of unnecessary horse-hockey twitter, facebook, et al are in the first place than their critics can ever do?

My new favorite band, YELLE, is playing 2 shows at SXSW, 18th at Maggie Mae’s and the 21st at Emos.

YELLE’s debut album was brilliant, they’re from France and the entire album is all French-electro-poppy-goodness.

If you get the chance, I’d highly recommend checking it out. She’s only been to San Francisco twice and both shows sold out and were super fun and this looks like the last shows they will do before hibernating, recharging the internal batteries, and working on the new album.

Interestingly, I went into San Francisco yesterday -- 3/15 -- and it was incredibly busy. I was trying to get up to Rosamunde in the Fillmore for a scrumptious hot dog. But traffic was backed up at a snails pace at several locations I tried to go up from. So I gave up and went to the Mission for my dog.

Great post. And I really feel bad for my followers that don't care about SXSW. I warned ahead of time that it would get noisy, not just by me http://twitter.com/rondostar, but by anyone they followed who were interested or were going to SXSW. It's a hard situation to deal with. I love your list of solutions. I am not at SXSW this year, but have been experiencing it through Twitter. It's almost like I am really there with TweetDeck. Hopefully my followers will appreciate the vomit I spew during this conference, but maybe they won't. Oh well.

Thanks Veek!

One addendum to this post, twitterers may want to change @ reply preferences to see fewer posts:

Go here and check your settings: http://twitter.com/account/notifications

You can see all @ replies, see no @ replies, or only see @'s to people that you follow. That could lessen the impact of chatty sxsw-ers.

Back to SXSW now
