[...] Today I finally had a chance to visit digg, whose headquarters, like Laughing Squid, are also located in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. Eddie Codel and I stopped by digg’s digs and met with Kevin Rose, Daniel Burka and Timeless. Leah Culver was there as well and six of us took a walk in the rain to get some lunch at a nearby cafe. After lunch they gave us a tour of their offices, including Digg’s new space that they are expanding into, as well as their rooftop with awesome urban views. Here are a few photos. photo credit: Scott Beale tags: San Francisco (T) , photos (T) , lunch (T) , Potrero Hill (T) , digg (T) , Kevin Rose (T) , Eddie Codel (T) , Leah Culver (T) , Daniel Burka (T) , Timeless (T) submit to StumbleUpon Comments RSS feed | Trackback URL [...]

[...] Yesterday I finally took a tour of the historic Anchor Brewing brewery in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. This is something I’ve wanted to do this for years. Anchor is one of the oldest independent breweries in the country and is a San Francisco institution. Anchor has an amazing history which includes when Fritz Maytag bought failing brewery back in the 60’s and breathed new life into it. Fritz is still running it today and was hanging out in his office as we took the tour. Anchor is also one of the breweries that helped kick-off the microbrew revolution which has led to a much wider variety of good beers that are available around the country. [...]

[...] Now that Laughing Squid has recently relocated to Potrero Hill, we want to help support/promote some of the great stuff happening in our neighborhood. A great place to start is the 15th Annual Potrero Hill Festival, which takes place this Saturday, October 15th. It’s know as “The Big Little Festival with a View”. The Festival kicks off this Saturday, Oct 15 with a pancake breakfast from 9 am - 11 am at the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House (953 De Haro St). The street festival in front of the Neighborhood House is from 10 am - 5pm and will include music, ethnic food, children’s events, dance, art, craft and jewelry vendors. [...]
