Pop Culture Scientists & Comic Geeks Form Theories on How Superman Shaves in Gillette Ad Campaign

World-renowned science guy, Bill Nye, tackles this world-renowned question — just how does the Man of Steel shave?

Gillette has created an entire marketing campaign that is geared toward answering the question, “How does Superman shave?” The question and campaign arose after a video response to the Man of Steel movie trailer by Conan O’Brien. He was curious as to how Superman went from having a scruffy beard to being clean-shaven in the film. To find the answer, Gillette put together a team of pop culture scientists and comic book aficionados to get their theories (Bill Nye, Kevin Smith, Mayim Bialik, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage). You can vote for your favorite theory online at HowDoesHeShave.com.

Laser vision? Psh. Kryptonite razor? Oh please. Kevin Smith debunks some classic theories on how the Man of Steel shaves, and submits one of his own.

As hosts and executive producers of the television series MythBusters, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman know how to figure out the answers to some tough questions. Do you think their theories solve the mystery of how the Man of Steel shaves?
