i was there and it was absolutely amazing! i’ve gone through sooo many flickr albums looking for pics of me and my friends! 5 so far. if you didn’t go, GO next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! make it a tradition! thanks SO much for this list of links, it’s helped so much in my search for pics!

I have a small set of ten stereoscopic (3-D) photos on my flickr account at http://www.flickr.com/photos/60901665@N00/sets/72157603929294460/

The photos are not anaglyphs (the red-blue glasses kind) but can be free-viewed using the crosseye method, which is pretty self-explanatory. Directions are posted underneath the photos, too.

Actual jobs delayed two days’ worth of photos until today. We divided them into prelude and the actual pillow fight. It ran too long so we did not capture the aftermath, but will try to do so next year.

Lou, it’s not so much people not respecting the rule as it’s just total chaos out there. My friend got elbowed numerous times in the head, and I got my glasses knocked off, but that’s expected when we’re all packed like sardines.

PS I know it’s like finding a set of keys in a plaza covered with feathers, but did anyone find a set of keys?

I think people need to respect the “don’t hit people with cameras” rule… I was trying to get in close to the action and someone decapitated my flash. Whoever it was just took off. Not cool man… not cool.

I went in 2006, but didn’t make 2007. Was pretty surprised at how big this year was. It’s not quite as cool without the “flash mob” surprise factor that the first year had, but it was fun to see such a massive crowd walloping each other with pillows.

And I also was thinking that it’s gotten so big that I’m wondering how the City is going to handle it next year. Or, alternately, when it’s going to go the way of other spontaneous S.F. crowd celebrations that end up turning into ugly and drunken contentious messes (like Union Square New Year’s Eve or Castro Halloween).

Till now, it’s been a lot of fun and hopefully it stays that way.
