Photography-Based Adventure Series Roaming Focus Explores a Remote Abandoned Prison in Ontario

Roaming Focus is a “photography-based adventure series” that explores the cities and wilds of Canada through the lens of Toronto photographer, Mike Palmer. This web show episode takes Palmer and the crew to Ontario’s Burwash Correctional Facility. The prison, which shut its doors in 1973, is so remote that they have to access it by canoe via the Wanapetei River. The photographer explores the institution’s long abandoned corridors while giving some picture-taking tips to fellow urban explorers along the way.
