photoBot is a robotic camera that detects and photographs nearby people (video). A camera and ultrasonic sensor are housed in a rotating “head” atop the device. The sensor locates photo subjects and the camera snaps a photo. As photos are taken, they are shown on a small display on the body of the device. photoBot is designed to photo document social occasions like parties, allowing participants to focus on socializing rather than photography. photoBot was created by designer Tommy Dykes.
