Photo Collage Series Capturing Each Half of Separately Connected Lives Within a Long-Distance Relationship

Half and Half” a collaborative photo series by New York City-based artist Shin Danabi and Seoul-based Li Seok that captures the bittersweet pain of a long-distance relationship. Each photo is split to show an image from the separately connected lives that each half of the couple is living, more than 6,000 miles away.

The new collage presented by ShinDanbiLiSeok, which usually focuses in the realms of installation art and media art, is a project created by the two in different places while sharing their daily lives. The two artists are currently far from each other in Seoul and New York. Their art started with a simple thought of wondering if anything can be created while being away from each other. The photos are taken simultaneously despite 14-hour difference.
