Our Incredible Journey is a blog by Phil Gyford that documents when one company buys another and then closes it services. This is most common with companies entangled in anything remotely involving Silicon Valley. For example, Gyford recently posted GoInstant‘s effusive blog post about being acquired by Salesforce in Septempber 2012 and the company’s blog post closing things down in August 2014.
If you look through the archives this is what all the incredible journeys have in common. A company gets bought, its staff are excited (publicly, anyway) about their new home, but sorry that the service which brought them to the attention of their new bosses will have to be closed. “But thanks for joining us on our incredible journey!”
