One Human Heartbeat, A Project That Visualizes a Single Person’s Heartbeat Every Single Moment of the Day

One Human Heartbeat Project

Brooklyn-based data scientist Jen Lowe has created One Human Heartbeat, a project that uses heart-rate data gathered by her Basis health tracker to visualize her heartbeat as a pulsing red circle 24 hours a day. Because Lowe connects the tracker via USB twice a day to gather this data, the project is actually a window into her heartbeat 24 hours ago rather than the present. When no data is recorded for a minute for whatever reason, the project instead provides the heart-rate data from the previous minute. Lowe’s blog post provides some additional insight into the project.
