The Octopod Underwater Salvage Vehicle by Sean Charlesworth is a fantasy octopus-inspired submarine (video). Charlesworth has 3D printed a wonderful intricate scale model of the craft, complete with working lights and escape hatch. The Octopod was Charlesworth’s masters thesis project at New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Charlesworth talks about the project in this interview with MAKE. The Octopod will be on display at World Maker Faire New York, September 29 and 30.
