New Beginnings, Ballet Dancers Perform on Roof of NYC’s 4 World Trade Center in Short Film

In the beautiful short film “New Beginnings,” a pair of ballet dancers perform high atop 4 World Trade Center, with the dawn skyline of the city and One World Trade Center as their backdrop. The film was produced by New York City Ballet and features two of the company’s dancers, Maria Kowroski and Ask la Cour, performing “After the Rain” by choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. The film was directed by Davi Russo.

Filmed at sunrise on the 57th floor of 4WTC in lower Manhattan, this short film captures an extraordinary and moving performance of Christopher Wheeldon’s After the Rain. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a tribute to the future of the city that New York City Ballet calls home.
