I didn't fall into any kind of 64 year-old "trap". I've been there before and I'll go back again. You seem to be reading a bit too much into this post.

Nate n Al's is, at it's very best, decent. unfortunately you fell into the standard "Los Angeles Food Trap". There's an unwritten law here in L.A. that states "If a restaurant has stayed open for longer than 10 years, it is automatically classified as "good"/"delicious" regardless of how the food actually tastes." As a Midwestern transplant to the west coast, I've learned that "iconic" L.A. restaurants are more likely places that have had the fortune of surviving the last few decades. For more examples see Pink's Hot Dogs (coming from Chicago, I'm offended that they even call their food hot dogs), Cantor's Deli, Tommy's Burgers, and The Pantry. Feel free to disagree SoCal readers, but there's a reason people in the Midwest are so plump. We have good food. It's easy to stay in shape in L.A. since the only good stuff worth eating is fresh fruits and veggies.
