MSHR, An Art Group That Uses Custom Lights and Synthesizers to Make Mind-Bending Feedback Loops

Brenna Murphy and Birch Cooper of Portland, Oregon art group MSHR (pronounced “mesher”) use a combination of light-activated synthesizers and sound-activated lights to create audio-light feedback loops in mind-bending live performances. The duo rearrange the lights throughout the performance, continually changing the sounds emanating from the analog synthesizers. Murphy and Cooper talk about their art in this interview with ANIMAL.
