‘Mirage’, A Delightfully Disorienting Kaleidoscopic Wall of Mirrors in the Woods

Mirage, Mirrored Kaleidoscopic Outdoor Installation

In the outdoor installation Mirage, 1,200 mirrored panels form a disorienting kaleidoscopic wall amidst a grove of trees. The 82-foot-long installation was created by Budapest-based design firm Studio Nomad. According to the studio, they were inspired by the camouflage patterns of battleships from World War II (likely they are referring to dazzle camouflage). The installation was displayed last August at the Sziget Festival in Budapest.
