I remember seeing it and in it he plays the scientist. From what I remember he runs around the streets at incredible speeds shot stop frame with Jim moving large distances between frames. Despite having some basis in credible(-sounding) science, it's much more readable and less dense than some of his more recent work (<i>Frek and the Elixir</i> comes to mind). I've been looking forward to a movie of this for a while, though I really hope Jack Black isn't the protagonist (as rumors claimed long ago). This movie calls for someone smarter and a little less... manic. I could see somebody making a case for him as mad inventor from <i>Envy</i>, but really the role needs someone else. And of course the Gary-brain attack is just screaming out to be Gondry-ized.
