McDonald’s Netherlands Introduces a Music Production Studio on a Paper Placemat

McDonald’s Netherlands has introduced the McTrax, a music production studio built into a paper placemat using conductive ink and a thin circuit board.. The placemat connects to the user’s smartphone through Bluetooth and features a synthesizer, beat selector, effect unit, and sample controls for creating original music.

The McTrax placement was tested in one Netherlands location, but the company says they hope to roll it out on a bigger scale soon.
