i only wanted to let you know where the problem was… and perhaps give you the trail so you can deal with it.

There’s a number of reasons that anonymity might be an important way to communicate messages in today’s media environment ( i.e if you are a journalist reporting on druglords with ties to the govt. that you are reporting in is just one hypothetical situation, or you someone like Daniel Ellsberg who has information from a position that is a card best not forfeited until the time is right ).

i would be happy to debate that pt. later.

I was genuinely concerned that people were being re-directed from Chicken’s site, because timing for his campaign and fundraising is crucial as you know.

Well, I was talking about you today. I am working on what is next for me career wise with a life coach-in-training and there are some things I would like to do but have some fear…which I am working on.

She asked who I admired and why.

There is someone I havn’t spoke to in years who is on the opposite side of your opinion of me. And unlike you, she doesn’t mind having her email next to her opinion. Anyway, how can someone not in SF ( like myself in LA) send funds or contribute to Chicken?

Question: Which is the best way to support the arts:
1.) Encourage people to donate to arts organizations
2.) Encourage people to donate to a blowhard promoter with a reputation for deceit who pays frequent lip-service to art and never supports anything that he doesn’t stand to gain from

Scott, I know you’re friends with Chicken John, but you should be using that to talk some sense into him, not supporting him in this self-aggrandizing, attention-seeking bullshit. I expect this sort of thing out of him, but all you ordinarily sensible people who are helping him in this should be ashamed of yourselves.

John has time and again shown himself to be manipulative, unethical, unscrupulous and self-interested to a fault. Maybe one or two of you out there ought to consider not putting him on a pedestal for it. This “Mayor” thing started as one of the most annoying things he’s ever done, and is becoming the most unethical. He’s collecting tens of thousands of dollars, and trying to get $150,000 of taxpayer money, while privately telling people “I’ve got all this mayor money and it’s kinda burning a hole in my pocket. I can’t for the life of me figger out what to spend it on… I’m all horn and no driveshaft.” (See for yourself on http://www.dontvoteforchicken.com/inhisownwords.html) And you’re helping him! What kills me is that you’re pretending to help the arts by telling people to give money to Chicken. Where, exactly, are your priorities?

Chicken John doesn’t stand for art and he doesn’t “champion” art. He talks alot about it. That’s it, no more. He’s not doing anything to promote art. He’s not raising any dialog at all, he’s just paying lipservices. He’s just found it’s a hot button issue he can make noise about to draw attention to himself yet again, and he’s referring to it over and over again, yelling “Art! Art! Art!” and not saying anything else beyond platitudes and empty rhetoric. And you’re all getting behind him like he’s actually doing something other than grabbing your attention and money again.

This is just like a few years ago, when he tried to set up a new Burning Man organization – with himself at the head, of course. Not a single person — not a single one — is saying, “Hey, maybe chicken shouldn’t be encouraged every time he has a cockamamie scheme to grab some headlines. Maybe he’s gone too far with this one.”

Christ, this is like that episode of “Batman” where the Penguin suddenly decided he was going to run for Mayor of Gotham City, and everybody forgot he’s a crook and supported him, just because he suddenly started spouting a good line of BS.

I hope you and Chicken are having a good laugh about this, because that’s the only good that will come of it. Chicken is going to waste a heap of other people’s money, get loads of attention for himself, and never even make a ripple in the pond.

How does Chicken undermine art? What makes you think he won’t debate other candidates? Are you all Newsom sock puppets? Come on, wake the fuck up and laugh a little. Laughter is cheap medicine and apparently in short supply around here.

yeah I get it….chickenpecker is better than the rest of us. he doesn’t need to talk to average citizens or debate others…he just has to talk and talk and talk and take and take and take…JUST like gavin newsom…a blowhard who talks and takes and doesnot give.
