Massive Wedge-Tailed Eagle Uses Her Powerful Talons to Punch a High-Flying Drone Out of the Sky

If you see a bird of prey while flying. Land. I have added this to my operating procedure.

Adam Lancaster of Melbourne Aerial Video learned a valuable lesson when a massive wedge-tailed eagle decided that she didn’t like his high flying drone and punched it out of the sky with her powerful talons. And while he quickly rescued his camera, Lancaster stated that his first concern was about the bird.

Eagle’s health was my main concern. …This is the last thing a small bird sees when a Wedge-Tailed Eagle decides that you are dinner. …Do not fly drones near birds of prey, they clearly attack seeing you as a threat or the right sized dinner. This will cost you money and potentially harm to the bird. This one was fine…the drone needed some attention before it could fly again.

Lancaster also uploaded the same footage in slow-motion, showing just how beautiful and how frightening these birds of prey can be.
